What counts as an emergency
- No heating or hot water at all, especially with vulnerable people in the household
- A boiler or pipe leak you can't contain
- A suspected gas smell — call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately, then us
- A boiler making a loud banging or repeatedly cutting out
Before we arrive — safe checks only
A few things are safe to check yourself while you wait, but we won't ask you to touch anything involving the gas or electrical side of the boiler itself:
- Check your boiler pressure gauge — if it's below 1 bar, that alone can cause loss of heating (see our pricing page for re-pressurising)
- Check your thermostat is set correctly and has working batteries if applicable
- Check nothing has tripped on your electrical consumer unit
If any of that doesn't resolve it, or you're not comfortable checking, don't force it — that's what we're for.
